Your ship is your single biggest decision. This chapter explains how the rates and classes compare, how to get a hull worth sailing, and how woods, trim, modules and perks turn a stock ship into yours.
In this chapter Rates & Classes How Naval Action sorts its ships. Acquiring a Ship The four ways to get a ship in Naval Action: craft one yourself, buy one (from another player at the Ship Auction, or a basic hull in port), capture one in battle by boarding, or redeem a DLC ship. Woods & Trim When a ship is crafted, the builder chooses the woods it's framed and planked from, plus a trim — and those choices shape the hull as much as its rate does. Mods, Books & Perks The three layers that turn a stock hull into your ship: modules (mods) bolted into the ship's slots, ship knowledge (books) learned permanently into an individual ship's knowledge slots, and captain perks that follow you from hull to hull. DLC Ships Naval Action sells optional DLC — mostly ships, plus a few cosmetic and account add-ons.
