Rooms
A room is a Battle Builder battle fought with other people. You need to be signed in to host one; anyone with the room's link can join, signed in or not. Someone who isn't signed in sails under a name like Guest 0042.
Hosting
Build the battle in Battle Builder as usual and choose Host a room. The Player mark doesn't matter in a room: everyone picks a ship in the lobby. Copy the room's link from the lobby and send it to the people you want to play with.
The lobby
The lobby lists every ship in the battle and who has her. Claim a ship to take her, or Give up to let her go; claiming another ship moves you to her. When everyone is ready, the host chooses Start. An NPC captain sails every ship nobody claimed, so you can fight side by side against the NPC captains, or against each other, or both.
Once the fight has started, nobody new can claim a ship. Someone who arrives late watches.
In the fight
You sail and fight your ship with the same controls as alone. The battle doesn't pause and runs at one speed: Esc opens the menu, and the fight goes on behind it. What you see is a fraction of a second behind the room, which a ship's slow turn hides.
The host's ship is the flagship. The NPC ships on her side are her squadron and answer her signals; nobody else makes signals.
Leaving and coming back
If you close the page or lose the connection, an NPC captain takes your ship after about ten seconds. Open the room's link again to take her back, as she is. If your ship strikes, you watch the rest of the fight.
A room lasts until a minute after the last person leaves. Nothing about it is saved.
