Raiders Strip Two Ports Bare, Leave Them Unclaimed
At last the marauders' patience has been rewarded, though not perhaps as any nation would wish it. Champoton, so long a Spanish holding under KARMA's flag, has fallen to the NPC Raiders and now sits without master or colours flying above it. Pedro Cay, wrested likewise from CKA's British hands, joins it in that same forlorn neutrality. Fifteen days of dogged failure by these sea-wolves have ended in a fashion this office scarcely dared predict: not a conquest for crown or clan, but simple dispossession, the ports left as orphans on the map. The Raiders, evidently emboldened, now turn their attentions further afield — MATDR's Cayman Brac is called for this evening at 19:45 UTC, and HEART's pirate haven of Roseau follows at 20:57 UTC. Meanwhile honest steel is also promised at Shroud Cay, where Great Britain's VALOR has set NWO's pirate colours there for trial at 22:52 UTC, the first clan-on-clan siege this Gazette has had cause to report in a fortnight.
The treasury table stirs at last from its long slumber, though the summit itself will not be moved. CFS remains fixed atop the ledger with its twenty-six ports, a reign now into its fifteenth consecutive day and apparently beyond the reach of mortal ambition. Below it, HYDR4 climbs smartly from eleventh to seventh, its seven ports unchanged but its standing much improved, while LOUP likewise rises four places to twenty-sixth. KARMA, having just surrendered Champoton to the Raiders, slides three ranks to twenty-first with but two ports remaining, and KRAKN drops a corresponding three places to thirtieth despite holding its single port fast. A modest shuffling, then, but the first true movement this correspondent has been permitted to record in many a dull morning.
