Whether this latest doubling of ambition shall at last yield the raiders a prize, or simply extend a losing streak now grown tediously familiar, the harbours themselves decline to venture an opinion. The treasury ledger, for its part, offers the columnist nothing new to record. KAMI holds fast to first place with its forty ports unchanged from yesterday's count, and no rival clan presses near enough to disturb the settled arithmetic of its supremacy. Caribbean wealth, it seems, has grown as accustomed to stillness as Caribbean arms.
