Where yesterday's Gazette recorded a clean sweep of failure, today the tide turned for two persistent claimants. FURY, twice denied at Penzacola, finally saw the neutral port yield to Spain's colours under its own banner. LVTN, having watched George Town slip from its grasp only two days past, returned to claim the settlement outright for Great Britain. Elsewhere the pattern of futility held firm: at Saint-Marc, MATDR's British assault upon KARMA's Spanish garrison was thrown back without ceremony, while the NPC Raiders' twin forays against GRMLN's Old Providence and 18BEK's Cayo Romano were both repelled, the black and Spanish flags alike undisturbed.
The treasury table stirred more than of late, chiefly on the strength of today's captures. LVTN's seizure of George Town carried it from thirteenth to eighth, a five-place leap on a single new port, while FURY's success at Penzacola lifted it from twenty-third to nineteenth. 18BEK, meanwhile, paid the price of its port count slipping from eight to seven, sliding two places to ninth despite its stout defence of Cayo Romano. CFS remained untouched atop the standings, its twenty-six ports and first-place rank as immovable as ever.
