The Pirates Fall; Britain and Spain Divide the Spoils

In a whirlwind of activity that saw five ports change hands within the span of a day, the balance of Caribbean dominion has shifted with considerable violence. Great Britain seized Aguadilla from the Pirates via LVTN's steel, whilst Spain claimed both Marigot and Oranjestad through the exertions of GOLFO and TVM respectively—all three ports torn from the holdings of the Pirate garrison TNA. Not content with land grabs alone, Great Britain's VCNA wrenched Little Inagua from French hands, even as USN secured Ruatan from Neutral control for France. The artillery smoke has scarcely cleared, and already the reckoning begins. The day's carnage has left the Pirates' treasury smarting with a loss of 177,353 reals—a decline of nearly one-third. France, despite her capture of Ruatan, suffered a far graver catastrophe, haemorrhaging 802,306 reals as her net revenue collapsed to a mere 682,416 across fifty-four ports. Spain too felt the weight of redistribution, surrendering 362,879 reals, though her seventy-four ports yet command 727,222 in daily yield. Meanwhile, the victorious clans made their fortunes plain: NSCN's French holdings generated 323,859 reals, whilst ACDC's British dominion produced 321,764, and CFS's Spanish strongholds yielded 277,859. Yet shadows lengthen in counting-houses across the archipelago. Eleven clans found themselves newly impoverished—DFN, GOLFO, KP, USN, and others watching their revenues crater by fifty to ninety percent. Whether such ruin presages further conflict or merely a harsh correction to unsustainable holdings remains to be seen.
