Ruatan Falls; Little Inagua Changes Hands

The day brought two swift reversals of fortune in the Caribbean's contested waters. Ruatan, held by Neutral forces these many months, fell to France—or rather, to USN acting in France's colours—in a brisk engagement detected this morning. The port's battle timer has been reset from seven o'clock to three in the afternoon, a tactical adjustment that may yet prove consequential. Scarcely moments later, Little Inagua likewise changed masters: from French into British hands it passed, PRS yielding to VCNA in a transaction as neat as a ledger entry. The shift rippled through the treasuries with predictable consequence. France's net revenue tumbled nearly one hundred thousand reals, though her dominion of fifty-four ports still yields an imposing 1.48 million daily. Great Britain, by contrast, gained ground—her thirty-two ports now returning 1.06 million, up a cordial seven per cent. Spain continued her own steady climb, netting over 1.09 million across her seventy-two holdings and rising twenty per cent against yesterday's tally. Yet the real drama dwelt in the clans' coffers. NINE's fortunes soared two hundred and nine per cent; R1P and USN each more than doubled their take; whilst at the opposite extreme, ORANJ collapsed to mere pennies and TVM crumbled toward insolvency. The ledgers, it appears, are already rewriting themselves in the shadow of these two flips."
