1st Lieutenant is the third junior officer rank. A Lieutenant is expected to start demonstrating leadership in helping junior officers advance in rank, improve as Naval Action players, and engage in battle as a team.

By now, an officer seeking this rank should be active in Naval Gaming in leading and participating in operations. The officer should also be active in helping lower ranking officers to learn Naval Gaming and Naval Action.
